  1. 01

    Police Gender Desk

    Ask specifically for the Gender and Children's Officer — they are trained for these cases. You will receive an OB (Occurrence Book) number. The OB is free; you should never be asked to pay for one.

  2. 02

    Medical examination (P3)

    The P3 form is the medical evidence the court needs. By law it is free. If you are charged, write down the amount, the date, and the person who charged you — it matters later.

  3. 03

    Legal counsel — free of charge

    You have a right to a lawyer at every stage. Several organisations provide free legal aid for GBV cases; ask the helpline above to be connected.

  4. 04

    Following your case

    After 14 days a case should be transferred to the prosecution office. You can ask, in writing, for an update — using your OB number. Speaking up is protected; your testimony cannot be used against you.

If someone tells you otherwise, you can write down their name and badge number and call the helpline above. None of this is your fault, and none of it is optional for them.
